| A Bit of Our History . . . |
The company was originally started in 1980 under the name Gavin Home Improvements. It grew quickly by doing some very simple things; we kept appointments, showed up on time, and communicated with the owner. I didn’t think it was anything unusual since that's how I was raised but my customers thought otherwise. They told me of other companies who didn’t return phone calls, didn’t show up for appointments, or showed up out-of-the-blue several days after the scheduled appointment.
In 1997, we changed our company name to Gavin Design-Build to reflect a new approach. It became apparent that with the increased complexity of remodeling, design was becoming an ever increasing necessity. I was dissatisfied with bidding over-designed projects that went beyond the customers' budgets, so I used my construction experience and creative nature to convert to a design-build firm. In this process, I've been able to help my customers develop their projects within their budgets, and transform their homes into environments that reflect the way they live.
